Composite fillings
Once caries has been removed, we close the resulting cavity with a filling to preserve the tooth. It restores chewing function and keeps your teeth looking good. We work with tooth-coloured composite.

What is composite?
Composite fillings, often still wrongly called plastic fillings, are tooth-coloured, mouldable filling materials. About 80 percent consists of the finest ceramic, glass and quartz particles; only about 20 percent is resin. This makes the restoration much stronger than earlier plastic fillings.
Advantages over amalgam
- Tooth-coloured and therefore practically invisible
- Bonded adhesively to the tooth, so less healthy tooth structure has to be removed
- Metal-free
- Finished in one visit, immediately loadable
Cost
German statutory insurers cover the cost of the standard filling. If you have caries and wish, we are happy to prepare a cost estimate for a composite filling with the insurance share deducted. For larger defects in the back teeth, CEREC ceramics offer a particularly durable alternative.
